I have heard the VN is the lightest Commodore model, which leads to some interesting ideas about a "bitza" using a VN body, Ecotec (or Alloytec 190) and some other good bits.
I think I read recently the power of the old V6 versus the Ecotec...it was something like 145kw versus 165kw, so the Ecotec is better...and with that enormous bloody plenum chamber under the plastic cover to let it take a deep breath, instead of the aenemic, tiny, "old V6" style one with the throttle body at the back end of it, it damn well should be...
Another interesting sleeper to contemplate would be a VB Commodore SL/E with an Alloytec 190 (far more power than the original 5-liter V8 red motor) and four speed or five speed auto. Power
and economy rather than power
without any economy whatsoever out of the 5 liter old bent eight ADR27A-strangled motor...
You may flame me unmercifully now...
