Default VY V8 Station Wagon Air cond -not working

Hi all,

My wifey has a Holden Station wagon V8 and no air @ moment.

When pushing the air cond switch, i can't hear anything start and the air is warm instead of cold.

Symptons started on a long drive from Newcastle to QLD.

Was going to take it to a air con mechanic but am wondering if its something simple (afraid of getting a $1k bill or something)

Where on net is a good place to get a diagram of where the main parts of the air con are so i can check for loose wires (gunna check them+fuses)

Is there a website?

S.

It's probably out of gas thats all?, There made so that when the gas is low they wont come on at all so as to not damage anything. I had the same problem with my VS, nothing would work or engage etc & the fan blew hot, Check to see if there is any gas still inthe system by quickly pushing on the valve like a tire, and if nothing happens I would say Gas is you problem...
The aircon system will not come on at all if there is not enough gas, it's a safety shut down thing, and as sooon as i put the gas in, the air con switch worked, the compressor engaged, & 30 seconds later it was fantastic!!!, [Like you, I thought I was going to be up for heaps to begin with but all it ended up costing me $50 for the gas...
Cheer's
