Cool Greg now has a second pair of hands

    Hey all

Greg was going to announce this but I thought I would do the honour.

As most of you know he's been very busy working in the background, to the point its been impossible to contact him. Theres a backlog of work, throw into that an even bigger backlog of enquiries - email, PM, phone. Plus the pressure of preparing boards for RCA out, AUX In, VY/VZ dash LED conversions and morphing needles, plus fiddling with new toys like the recently announced Bluetooth harness or footwell lighting solution, he has literally run out of hours in a day to do everything.

So I would like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that I'm helping Greg with his Just Commodores forum enquiries. We both know quite a number of people have been more then patient while waiting for a response, but with the ever growing backlog Greg needs a second pair of hands to answer everyones enquiries.

Greg prides himself on talking to his customers direct, to explain what he does, how he does it, and that wont stop. However as most of you know getting hold of him is quite difficult lately, especially with the interstate roadtrips where he has minimal (if any) internet access, which is why Im here - to fill the gap.

A bit about me - I was one of Gregs early customers, before ASR was a forum sponsor and when the thought of being able to listen to your ipod via your standard Blaupunkt radio was absurd. I was hesitant in letting someone play with my new baby, especially after having so many radio issues with my previous Commodore. But after having the work done Ive been back to Gregs number of times, and have bought him my familiy and friends cars as well, and I dont plan on stopping there.

PLEASE DO NOT PM ME about ASR questions, I will respond to everyones posts here in the ASR section. Private Messages will be deleted. This is because if you have a question, chances are someone else will have the same question. So why keep the answer a secret to just you?

I look forward to helping you all answer your questions in a timely manner.

    Cheers,

    Matt

PS Greg - please endorse my post to let the people know this is the real deal

Welcome to being Greg's second pair of hands. Im sure you will be kept busy also

Are you able to advise cost of kits to do a certain model car in a particular led colour? Im wanting a full kit of LED's to change everything in a VZ Calais 2004. Hence, everything green becomes the colour of choice eg cluster, blaupunkt radio, climate, power window switches, rear door window buttons, steering wheel controls etc.

Im chasing a supplied only price of a kit to suit 2004 VZ Calais. I would like to know the supplied kit cost in 3 colours as Im aware that they do vary in price. Coloured kits to be priced are Red, Blue, and the Orange/Golden colour as in the pics on the ASR website.

I know and understand the complexity of completing the task of swapping the coloured LED's , but I have contacts in the electronics industry and auto electrics industry with 15 years experience who can help.

    Thanks
    Matt

Absolutely a huge THANK YOU to Matt is due here...

And as you requested Mate, a 100% endorsement right here and now.

Matt and I spoke about this at length a short time ago, and it sounds like a great idea. I understand the frustration fellas, I truly do - I experience it from the opposite side you see... Endless questions aout the same old things, and 8 times out of 10 after I DO reply, then there's no further contact!!

Please don't expect Matt to answer deep techo questions - although doubtless there will be a few he certainly can - but if you wish to ask one, I re-iterate to please ask it IN THE FORUM, and not through PMs. (pricing is a different matter, but then I prefer email contact for that activity now anyway - see the other thread regarding this...) If your question is answered in the open discussion area, then 100 other people's subsequent questions might be as well!

(that of course does assume that people are actually reading the threads...)

On that note also - I'm aware that FAQs and other info is a bit hard to locate - we're working on that - but there's a continual stream of questions received which are already answered between either FAQs or forum threads - many email replies might now contain little more than a link to the answers. Better than wearing out keyboards, and more importantly taking hours to say the same old stuff over and over. The emphasis here is to have a look first - chances are you can answer it yourself!

Anyways, again I wish to extend my very sincere thanks to Matt - for the moment he's doing this purely out of the goodness of his soul. If and when I'm in a position though Mate, consider yourself hired.

Ant - a couple of things we need to chat about... (my last call to you cost me $48 though! OUCH!!) I will be in touch soon anyhow.

    Andy - brace your inbox!

    Cheerz all, later.

Sounds like you need to give Skype a try Greg
Skype official website – download Skype free now for free calls and internet calls

Free voice calls computer-to-computer, and very cheap calls computer-to-phone (a $48 call would last about a week on Skype )

Hi Matt, i had my VE Maloo done by Greg, turned the 'ugly' red LED's into 'awesome' white LED's. Now my question is my ute only has wiring for 2 speakers & I have programmed the headunit to accept the 4 speakers as well. I believe he may be in the process of modding the plug on the headunit. Are you aware of it? Do you know if it's done? Cheers.....Mick.

To all thanks for your comments!

HoldenOnn yes I can do that, just not right now. greg is in the process of finalising his 2009 pricing structure, which I believe will happen within the next few days. Once thats done it will be on the website and forum for everyone to see. I will let you know when its released so you know exactly how much and can go from there.

Ant - yes Ive heard about you, Im sure I'll hear much more about you in the future too!!

Mick this would have been a while ago if I'm thinking of the same car, Greg was telling me about an issu with a ute and programming the head unit. I dont know off the top of my head but I'll find out for ya

Heh - no worries Ant. Danja - your Skype suggestion is a good one - I know about Skype of course, it just never occurred to me!

Mick - slightly different there, but I reckon I can sort something out for you. Need to do just a little more with your cluster too... Are you busy this weekend? Give me a call Mate!

Holden Onn - give me a short while, I need to get some parts organised.... I can sort a price for the kit though, I'll shoot a PM when I can get that together.
