Default Replaced H/U, antenna not going down?

Hey. In my VY Lumina today I replaced the single disc blaupunkt H/U with a 6 disc one from a VY, not sure which one, but it has FF/FR buttons not Up and Down. All working fine and all, only thing is that the antenna does not go down when I switch to CD or turn it off as it should. I'm 99% sure when it was first turned on, it must have gone back up because it would have gone down when I turned off the single disc. Anyone got any ideas what I did wrong?

The antenna for the "Premium" system (the type that has antenna up/down buttons) is a different type to the standard one. This antenna actually "remembers" the last position it was in. The output format for the antenna control is different between the two systems - The standard unit simply has a pin which has voltage applied when the antenna is to be driven up, but no voltage to drive the antenna down. The Premium system has a different setup here, giving different outputs depending on whether the drive should be up or down, then the antenna drive unit itself remembers where to set it.

Now - to fix it 100 %, to'll need to either change the antenna to the standard type, or put the original HU back in.

(and the latter would be my suggestion actually - another thing that the Prem system is capable of is driving 2 ohm speakers, which the standard unit CAN'T. If your car has had a Prem in the dash, then there's a good chance that the speakers are in fact 2 ohm, and if you connect these to a standard unit it's going to give problems eventually. The standard units are only able to drive 4 ohm speakers, and will overheat if running 2 ohm drivers.)

    Hope that helps.
