Default DAB+ and Phreddied Head Units

Just thought I'd share some information with you all. I had the Aux-In and RCA mods done by Ant a couple of months back, which was a giant upgrade in itself. When I heard about Digital Radio I thought, if they can make set top boxes for Digital TV, why not for in the car? And the other day, I found it. http://www.pure.com/Factsheets/VL-60905.pdf I don't know if Phreddy has any plans for DAB+, but this certainly sticks to the core philosophy of keeping the original Head Unit. It also fits nicely below the flip-down compartment beneath the head unit, and can most probably be wired in down there if you can be bothered pulling the console apart. I bought one yesterday and without spending anytime to actually learn much about it, I can say it sounds and works great.

Lol I totally forgot about this thread, sorry it took me so long to reply. It cost about $279 from Dick Smith, and works great apart from in underground car-parks (though FM is not so great in them either)... Works seamlessly with the Aux-In Mod and has a loop through 3.5mm connector, so you can plug your iPod into it without even needing to touch your Aux Connector. The back-light of the unit is also the exact same green as the standard Holden bulbs, although definitely brighter. And it can run off AA batteries as a Walkman, so it's not limited to use only in the car. Overall I'm pretty happy with it, though why wouldn't I be; anything to listen to NovaNation :P

You bet I'm looking at it. I'm also looking at a direct USB port MP3 playback for the Blau - ie, so that no player is required. Plug a thumb drive with your songs, and control it from the steering wheel buttons....

actually that doesnt look too bad and perhaps when i get a decent audio system in the car in the new year I'll look at popping one of them on as well so I get decent FM radio audio to seeing as I spend alot of time listening to the radio in the peak hour commute

    G'day Cam!

Yes I'm 100% serious.... Much of the groundwork has already been done.... And I'm hoping to be able to integrate into the display on the unit....

The problem at the moment, funds.... I've drained myself pretty much dry to develop the new products I've just released. Work will continue as soon as I'm able to afford it....
