Hi all, i got my sound system done by greg a little while ago-i went the whole audio package with aux input and true rca's and it works like a dream as some of you will know. however due to my lack of care and after many ipod drops the strain was too mcuh for the soldering from the wires to the port where you plug in the aux cord from your ipod.
now i've fixed half the problem by melting a hole just above the "aux" button and fitting the port in there (leaving wires under the centre console) but i still for the life of me can't figure out where the wires attach to on the actual port. i've tried all sorts of combo's and have managed to get it sounding ok but nowhere near as good as it did when it was first done by greg.
i've tried emailing greg but as i understand he is busy i thought some of you out there who have had the aux mod done may be able to answer the question for him by looking at your own aux port, or even take a picture of where the wires go? any help would be much appreciated..hope this made sense it wasn't easy to explain.
i've tried searching all over the internet but have come up empty every time.
thanks all!
AHH JEEZ!!! Sorry Dev, I meant to get back to your email....
I assume you mean that the wires from the switch have come adrift from the 3.5mm socket.... I'll snap a photo of what it should look like and email it to you. If you've tried all the combinations, it should've worked though! Is it possible that the socket itself is damaged? If so, I'll send a replacement to you.
(I have been a little busy actually - took out the Response gear and bolted up some shiney new JBL GTO gear. SWEEEET!!!! Quantum leap in performance!)
Anyhow, I will get back to you Dev - sorry again Mate!:

No need to worry greg!
False alarm, sort of.
Turns out that under the stress i put on the wires some of the plastic within the cable split and exposed the wires, resulting in them touching each other and playing around with the signal so i pulled apart the centre console (which i knew how to do thanks to your visit :P) and cut back a chunk of the wire and re-wired the aux jack with the new uncovered wires.
Works a dream once more!
Thanks man, feel free to close the thread or whatever.
Cheers
