How to install VY/VZ Sunglasses holder in VT/VX
there you go mate, a little how-to i wrote up. I still havent gotten around to scanning my roof cutting template, but looks like you've already done that![]()
yeh i seen that one but im using a vy harness not using the middle of the vt roof harness,as my roof lining is vy/z.with vy/z harness
Just use your VT harness and hook up your sunglasses holder to that.
so you meaning to say, pull out my roof lining again and use my vt harness, when i have a vy/z calais rooflining with lights in the rear near the grab handles and the console at the front with the vy/z harness already attached to the lining, guess you missing the point that i want to keep it where it is and just configure the harness i already have in place, some people wouldnt go to the trouble to do that but consider that i work 7 days a week with a family of four...time isnt on my side and i was asking greg for help.all im really asking of is that thousands of people on this forum could have done this before and was open to something but hay its all good,im not really having a stab at you(anarklov3r)but you should read the first post i made in the first place....

but thanks for your help.....![]()
your first post made no mention of rear passanger lights in the grab handle thats why i suggested you just use your VT wiring loom. It took me all of 10-15 minutes to get it working in my car like that. Anyway, good luck with getting your loom working. Id suggest you try get your hands on a VT and VY workshop manual with wiring diagrams for the lighting system. And then just match the wires across.
ok guys just found out that it cant be done cause the vt bcm doesent support the vy harness, back to the drawing boards i guess, but i could just pull the roof lining harness from a wh statesman being the same color code as the vt and just extend the wires to the front...yah.....thanks ayways guys....
Ah, sorry Jason... I needed to do a bit of research before I could advise you properly, and things have been a little silly lately.... Some of the guys here seem to have pointed you in the right direction anyhow - thanks fellas...
What you've suggested would probably be what I would have - might not work exactly the same way, but you'd be able to get it to function reasonable well... If you're handy with a multimeter and a crimping tool, you should be fine.
