G'day All.
OK, it's time for me to get my next Melbourne trip underway. I anticipate in a couple of weeks, all going well.
Now, very importantly.... I have had some emails over a period of time which I had filed away.... That database has become corrupted (bloody computers!!!) and much of that has gone. I do still have some emails, and you guys will have already received something from me.
BUT THIS IS IMPORTANT!! If you do want to see me on this trip, and didn't receive an email from me today (02-12-09) PLEASE shoot me another email. (I know, I'm sorry - but at least from these mess-ups I should be able to improve my "system"...) Address: phreddy@asr-audio.com.au
In the Subject field, please type "Melbourne Roadshow", a brief description of where you are relative to the CBD, and what you'd like done. For lighting mod quotes, please include not only your model (VT - VX - VY - VZ - VE) but the "designation" as well. (ie - Exec, S, SS, SV6, Acclaim, Calais - you get the picture....) Also, let me know if it's Auto or Manual trans, and if the factory stereo lights need to be done or not.
I'll take another opportunity here to mention the new "rules" regarding roadshow bookings... After all is said and done, you cannot consider yourself booked in until I have your deposit. (there's a separate thread relating to this, so I won't blurb on about it here) The deposit must be at least the value of your "travel split", which is $90. (accommodation in Melb ain't that cheap, especially around holiday times...) Naturally if you're comfortable with more, that's fine too - helps me to get the supplies and components organised.
Anyhow, at last it's happening guys! All going well, see you in a couple of weeks!
Cheerz.

guys, best way to consider yourself booked in is to pay Greg the $90 deposit.
I thought I'd throw it in, I know the first few roadtrips have been a mix of joy and pain and its all a learning curve.
I know everyone will love Gregs work, and will be lining up to have more work done next Roadtrip!
Thanks Matt.
Several emails have come in, I will get back to you all real soon guys.

Just sent you an email Greg.
Cheers,
Arth
Well I've just about worn my keyboard out sending emails, and I'm pretty sure I have everyone's quotes sorted out now.
As for deposits received - only two so far - and thanks to those guys - but I was expecting many more than that I'm afraid.... I've ordered a load of parts and supplies for the work, but cant get those yet 'coz I need to come up with the bread first.
At this stage I really needed people to be fair dinkum with me - now that we're talking about deposits, has it scared everyone off? This is bound to introduce delays now, because I simply won;t have the parts I need to do the work, and it's no good driving 1000 Ks without the goodies. I don't want to have to let down those people who HAVE paid... Please guys, it takes a LOT of planning and preparation to get one of these trips done.....
Please don't let this be another like the last Brisbane run. I counted that as a particularly unsuccessful trip, due to the pull-outs - that's what prompted the "deposit rule", so I could avoid it in the future. Doesn't seem to have worked.
Thanks again to those who HAVE done the right thing with their deposit, I will keep in touch regularly guys - and I will get there one way or another - even if it IS to do only two jobs. But if that IS the case, I think it'll be the last one.....

Guys, we all really need to support Greg if ASR is to survive.
The roadtrips are an enormous ask and I know after the Brissy one Greg was wondering if it was worth having another shot, especially while the ASR fund is running drier then the outback desert and every dollar is needed to keep the parts coming in.
For those in Melbourne, imagine packing up your car and coming to Sydney for $400 odd, then from that $400 take out the price of parts, fuel and accomodation just before Xmas, you would be running in the negative and wondering why your doing it, when financially your better off staying home and cracking open a cold beer while watching the cricket.
We're trying several methods in the background to help Greg stay 1 step ahead, but its prooving difficult. A simple deposit for the work you want done ensures he can order the parts required and confirms your booking.
Its not a large company here, its a small bloke trying to make everyone's car unique. A $90 deposit isn't really much to ask, especially when you look at the results.
To add to this discussion, ive spoken with Greg just two days ago about the Melbourne trip & Greg needs a minimum of 10-12 jobs per trip for it to work. That means 10-12 deposits to be payed. Not just for Melbourne but for all future roadshows. So for all the Melbourne people who show interest; & post up on the forum saying "oh I'm interested count me in" & then don't pay or string Greg along & pull out at the last minute, can basically get stuffed.
I know for sure that i want future roadshows to happen & i don't want to see a great, honest bloke to financially go belly up. So FFS pay the man now to get this roadshow & other future roadshows under way or we'll never get to see Greg's roadshows again.
Come on ppl, theres gotta be more interest than this!!

Hey phreddy and co. Just thought i'd let you know i'm yet to send my deposit. I did say i was going to send it today but it will have to wait until Wednesday now, simply because i had to pay for a new radiator i wasn't expecting to to have my car road worthy for today (got my licence back).
So im definetly keen and will be sending my deposit ASAP. No way known i am not getting this work done
-edit; Spoken to Greg and i've made arrangements for the deposit to be supplied today through a friend. End of the day it is my responsability to have this organised and i would hate to miss out. Definetly encourage everyone else to get deposits organised anyway they can.

also guys we're not saying this to sound like pr!cks, we're saying it because once youve experienced Gregs work you'll see its well worth it and Id hate for interstate people to miss out on the experience
+1 on that mate.
I would pay greg just for a chat, ahaha, he is a top guy and does some great work. no problems having him back multiple times (this will be the 3rd i believe)
Hey guys, cut it out....:
Just an update - things are back on track, thanks to a few more participants who have gotten in touch today. We will be delayed a little, but for those who have paid - I'm on the way!
I will be in touch with you all again over the next couple of days. Instead of getting away on Sunday night, it will be early AM Tuesday when I embark. A job is already booked in for Tuesday night, so count on being squeezed in sometime after that. I'll do my best to cater to everyone time-wise, and I'm definitely on the way.
(plus I have my overheating problem sorted out, so it should be a relatively stress free journey. The remainder of the Statey I'm pretty happy with maintenance wise - all filters are new, ignition system is very tidy, and the cooling system has had a bloody good check-over! LO!! Fresh oils throughout apart from brake fluid, but that'll come soon when I can sfford my slotted rotors & new pads... Anyone wanna sponsor me?? LOL!!)
And I've amped the in-dash Eurovox, and done an Aux In mod - so all I need to do now is repair the 10 stacker and then that should be it! Phew!
Anyhow, thanks again to all. The trip is on, so will see you all soon.

Hey Phreddy, do you have any plans for the next Melbourne tour? I have read your posts (and others) about the deposit, I have no problems with this. I have sent you an email about 30 mins ago and would appreciate a reply as soon as you get the chance.
Thanks heaps pal, hope all is well.
Cheers, Azza
.: BUMP :. for Phreddy...
Pretty sure VIC roadshow is going to happen with the Brisbane Roadshow, so should very very soon!
Recommend sending Greg another email on Phreddy.asr@gmail.com as he is normally efficient with replying to emails....
