VS Caprice lighting

I was just wondering if it is possible to change the color of the lighting on a VS Caprice? I want to ditch the green and go with either White or Blue.
What would be the cost involved in doing this?

The problem with the older models is they have a green diffuser on the dash clusters rather than a coloured L.E.D or globe, so you end up with a greeny tinge

You won't get a green tinge with LEDs, you will with bulb covers though. You can buy faces custom made with which ever defuser you want. Also with the trip computer the diffusers are removeable.

I know tht Gregs successfully done it to his VS Stato as the prototype without needing to buy "custom" dash insert, but Im not 100% sure how he did it or whats involved.

custom fascias r needed 2 avoid the green tinge with LEDs. if u got climate control in the VN-VS models u can kinda get away not using 1 coz the climate control unit cant b altered so it'll kinda match with the green tinge just not on other buttons ect....

TBH Im not that familiar with whats been done on Gregs VS because it was a matter of one week "I have a new car" then the next week "check this out, its white".

I didn't think he changed the facia but it sounds like he must have.

Sorry but if u have the original facia man u will ALWAYS have a green tinge unless its been modified which it has been said time n time again these models cant coz they r made from a Green laminate which u'll never get a true blue colour come through.

Tho ur always welcome 2 prove us wrong with these special LEDs we r always learning along the way

Another note on top of that the LEDs on ebay r the cheap way 2 do things and as uve found out not only give u the green tinge but also create hot spots n make things 100 times worse.

u cant see it coz its not against the other switches, trust me i can see the green tinge its there, along with the hot spots.

who gives a shit obviously a blue LED behind a clear fascia compared to a blue LED behind a green fascia is going to appear more blue but its not as if it the light comes out green when u use the stock fascia i cant notice any green with mine. Maybe your just too picky . My conversion cost me like $20 dollars and it looks just like every other one Ive seen

just a question is it hard to completely strip an instrument cluster like after you have it out of the car whats involved because i want to go whit faced in my vt v6 series 2 exec (was exec anyway!)

Yes if you look HARD enough you will see hot spots of course. They aren't that noticebale. We know its blue. Yes phredy's work would out do it, but its in prototype stage, and globe swapping is easy to do.

Yes we gotta b picky man if its not done right then it shouldnt b installed in the 1st place thats how Greg and myself see it and im sure its proving 2 b worth while coz of it

i did over the weekend tho he didnt pick up either so i left a msg and he got back 2 me with a text. Id say hes really busy atm so dont give up on trying 2 contact him, i know its annoying but he does try his best 2 answer and get back 2 every1 wen he can find the time 2.

As far as im aware with the VS models nothing really has changed im sure if it has he will announce it asap or let rich know somthing about it, but as i tell my customers even coz they take up so much time its a lil hard 2 fit them in along with the rest of the work so they may need 2 b really patient and hope they understand. Times really the issue.
