How much does a DIY kit cost for a 2005 holden vz storm ute. I want full blue but for no stereo as I have an aftermarket one. Also how much do the colour morphing needles cost?
I have emailed but Phreddy is realy busy at the moment so I'm guessing this is the next best place to ask
Thanks mate

Hey once again thanks for the help Richie. Seems like everytime I get my ass in questioning mode you come along with the answers. It's really appreciated man.
I've actually found someone here in NZ that is willing to take a crack at it but I need to know what I'll need in the way of materials. Is that something you could help me out with? Sorry if I'm coming across as pushy... just LOVE those LED conversions.![]()

Good luck with getting a list of materials mate, this is gregs living
I dont think you understand the work involved with the install and all the custom work/R&D that has gone into it. Trust me (i have seen greg do some of the work for the VT) you would be better off waiting untill a road trip (if greg would go that far) or buying a second hand cluster put in your car then send off yours by post to have the work done. Other things like the power window switches you could live without for a few days im sure.
There must be a few of you that want the work done over there so you could get together and buy a seccond hand set of all the parts needed drop them into one car and then send your parts to get done. Then when you get the parts back pass them on to the next guy to use so he can send his bits to get done. If there is 3 or 4 of you it would not cost that much. And at the end you can sell the parts and try to get some cash back
Honestly, Greg has put a lot of time prototyping etc etc so I doubt the information will become readily available - and even then it would be a big ask for someone to do it first go.....
As 0081 mentioned, if you can part with the items for a couple of days - maybe a week, Greg should be able to do it all
Just to let you know im not trying to stop you from having a go your self or for someone else to try and get off the ground and have a go but unless your ready to possibly destroy a cluster or 2 and even then ready to do the job and take it out change something put it back, take it out over and over to get it looking good (even greg took the VT out 2 or 3 time to get it 100%) then just spend the few hundred greg is asking.
You can see from the pics how good it looks and there are plenty of diy gobs that look not the good
Thanks guys...
0081 I do appreciate the amount of work that must go into doing this. I'm pretty sure that if it was an easy job then every man and his monkey would be doing it. I sort of had the idea that since there are kits for other models then there must be some standard list of parts. I can see now that I was completely way off.
0081 and Richie you are onto something there. I might take the pit (Money Pit... my pet name for my Calais) off the road for a few weeks towards the beginning of autumn for a respray and custom striping job. I'm betting it would be easy enough to pack it all up and send it over for a revamp.
In no way was I trying to belittle what Phreddy does... if anything I'm in awe of the guy. And thank you guys for the help and suggestions...![]()
