Well Phreddy i have finally had the holden boys recode my ute stereo to the sedan version so i have front and rear outputs now
So its time to get the 4 channel rca outputs done
can you shoot me a pm or email with cost for you to supply and assemble board ready for me to just install

i will be using rear output for subs
if i use the front outputs to run amps for better splits
how does the control for noise limiter etc get affected in the radio
( currently i have it turned on but would think using an amp and better speakers this could be turned off - Yes? )

SikDrummer - I'm not across the one that Stratho's do, but I'm pretty sure it would be the dreaded high-to-low level converter.

I wouldn't touch one of these in a fit, myself. All those things do is attenuate your speaker outputs so the signal voltage is right for the amp inputs. By then it's already gone through the head unit's on-board power amps, and the distortion is already there. True low level outputs are nice and clean.

Hey Guys.

Well, thanks to some tosser who's been after my missus for the past year or so, I'm afraid I'm not gonna be able to do installs at my place anymore. (the prick has found me here on the forum, reckons he's gonna have one of his mates "book in" a job - then he'll know my address......) Made all kinds of threats against her - wouldn't show up by himself of course, you know the type....

Of course, the piece of shit won't say that to me directly, reckons he wants to be best mates! (calls me a "maggot" behind my back though)

So, I can sort out and send kits - not in the immediate term - but can work something out. Unfortunately though I won't be able to do full installs any more unless I come to you. I can still do "partial installs" if your H/U and cradle are sent to my PO box, I do the mod, then send it back.
(those among you who DO have something firm set up, I will see that though for you.)


I'll leave it there, 'coz I'm pretty pist off at the moment. BBL.

Anyone know of anybody in Brisbane who does this mod. I just bought my 2004 VY and want this doing but dont want to bugger it up. (although i did install my xbox modchip, but this is my pride and joy.) I already have the replacement speakers & Amp ready to go straight in, just need the hard bit doing.

Thanks to Phreddy, I am now the proud owner of a modified VY Blaupunkt head unit with RCA outs and aux in. Although in Melbourne, Aust Post did their job and Phreddy did the rest. I'm still getting my amps together, but I can say the aux in works a treat as a weekend trip away was a lot more enjoyable because I could listen to what I wanted, not the same old clap-trap from the radio announcers.

I reckon all us Brisbane boys who want this mod and the dash lights mod doing on their VY & VZs should all chip in to fly phreddy from sydney up to Brisbane on a working holiday. Just an idea i had. worth thinkin about if phreddy is cool with it. I for one would be in on it.

First post! G'day all.

Hi guys, i too am stuck in the position of wanting to deck out my system, but i always like to keep everything stealth, with my last audi system running all PA 8Ohm 12" paper cone woofers and 1" compression drivers with horn flares, all well hidden. My current dillema is replacing the double din factory unit and losing the factory look, dash view and steering controls. It seems a waste not installing my $2K eclipse deck, but its only single din and all... if i have to do so many mods to the factory deck i'll go crazy...

My question is, the folks just forked out for a CV8Z monaro, it has the same 6 disc in dash blaupunkt deck, but has the rear parcel shelf subwoofer and also has a fuse for the amplifier in the fusebox. My VY SS also has the option for an amplifier fuse in the fusebox and i initially was hoping that there would be factory wiring low level signal, acc and b+ happily awaiting use in or near the boot compartment. This not being the case, has anyone come into contact with the subwoofer version of the blaupunkt deck and does it actually have a low level output or does the sub run from high level converters at the rear? Still doesn't explain the fusebox...

Sorry guys i would be strung up if i looked sideways at the CV8Z...

Shumack. Unfortunatly for you, the additional amplifier takes it's signal directly from the rear speaker loom. It is an entirely seperate power loom as you found out and the sub is spliced off from the rear speakers.

phreddy what can be done for my 2002 vx acclaim S2 h/u. I want to keep the h/u and the factory speakers, and run two subs in the boot. I'm keepin the factory speakers for now till I save some more money. SO where can I get one of the rca outputs....And how easy/hard will it be for me to install???

Probably a bit late, but i just wanted to sing Phreddy's praises too.

I got my 4 channel RCA mod, MP3 input mod and blue dash light conversion done by Phreddy towards the end of last year. I have to say that I couldn't be happier with it all !!
