Hey guys, I emailed phreddy 15 days ago now for an Adelaide quote "Says maybe next month".. It's been 15 days now and I'm still yet to hear from him, Is he just not interested in buisness much now, Or is he just busy? I would have thought since it's really the only way to get a quote I'd have a pretty quick reply.
I go to there website where on the front page it says "Complete led conversions from $250 yet, when I click on the picture it says "Coming soon" it's been on coming soon for weeks and weeks now, Is he looking for someone to do the website? as adding that stuff isn't really that hard and I'm willing to help him do the prices page or something. The updates and news wasn't updated since 2010 either....
Has Phreddy stopped doing this stuff now? With no email, website that has 2010 news, and a coming soon page for quite some time now, I'm starting to think maybe he's not doing it anymore?
Thanks guys.
Just busy I'd say. Email him again.

Is he the only person that does this stuff? I'm not going to re-email him, I've already done that, I'll just keep waiting, if he wanted / saw my email he would have replied to my last one, So I'll just consider he's just busy and wait
Contacting Phreddy is probably the hardest part about getting your work done. Once you do have him though, he has the best customer experience you can hope for. There are too many thread about how to contact him its ridiculous simply because he's too busy. He does this work for several other forum sites too and is often extremely busy. The best way to get his attention is to call him or just keep sending emails. Don't give up because once you get the work done, it will be well worth the wait.
A Commodore is a passion. Anything else is just a car
if only there was competition for him lol .. might make him move somewhat more 'swiftly'
He is flat out at the moment. He did some work for me over the weekend so he is still definitely around. Calling him would be your best option as suggested above.

Ok to answer your questions.
1. Greg is a one man show, if he doesn't reply or answer his phone it normally means he's flat chat.
2. I look after Greg's website, pricelist was removed in late December as it is be re-done - Unfortunately Greg has not gotten back to me to update the list.... I'll email him now & arrange for it to be correct as it's been out of order for way too long.
3. From $250 is based on VY-VZ models if I remember correctly. VT-VX were more costly due to custom PCB boards being required to complete the clusters.
4. When you e-mailed him what did you use as the title? A lot of emails go in his spam filter and if not addressed correctly they are not found. "ASR-Audio - Adelaide Roadshow Quote" I'm sure you'll get a response.
Hope that helps
I agree with rch m8, i found giving him a ring is the best option and leaving a message or even text him...his is pretty flat chat with stuff. just got him down to canberra to do some work and had him crash at home..hes a great lad and his work is excellent to say the least..hang in there as its definately worth the wait!!

" And on the Seventh day ,GOD created Commodores!!!! "
Well the quote I'm asking for is best dealt with through email as I'm asking about a lot of stuff that I wouldn't remember over the phone.
Don't have an email if you're not going to be able to check it, It's been like 21 days now with a few emails sent. Even if he is busy, He should have 10 minutes to go through his email once and a while. Not angry or upset or anything, Just wish he'd be able to email me back, that's all.
Hopefully he gets back to me before the end of March so he understands I'm keen... Well I was until this lol!
Edit: Rch, You still haven't done the pricelists mate..... Still "Coming Soon".. :|
lastn time i checked the pricelist it was around the 350 mark for full conversion for a manual vt/x
if stuff is too much for you to remember over the phone, maybe try writing it down and then giving him a buzz with the list in front of ya
Chev badges are an instant fail
Josheh - I'll try and find your email and get back to you ASAP. My apologies for missing it....
I have been bloody busy, but not for the right reasons. I've had some "catch-up" work to do, and a bloody boomerang VE audio mod that keeps on haunting me., there's also the issue that I seem to spend hours and hours answering MANY questions which are already answered in several locations, and for the past couple of weeks the vast majority have obviously been tyre kickers. After spending time and effort working the quotes out, the vast majority of the inquirers then seem to disappear. Then there are others who book the job, and pull out the day before it's supposed to be happening....
I am a one man show, as I keep on bleating about. I keep my prices realistic so that more customers can afford the services. I mean, let's face it - most of these jobs take at least 4-5 hours, and there's NOWHERE else in the country you'll get that amount of custom electronics work, performed by a QUALIFIED technician, for that kind of price. If I charge more, I could have my shop, maybe a couple of employees, and THEY could deal with the recurrent questions and arranging bookings, I could just get on with doing the work - but I would have to charge a WHOLE lot more for it to cover the costs involved.
Now as for Adelaide.... I'm currently trying to get a Brisbane trip sorted out, after that I'll be off to Melbourne. I have received the odd email from Adelaide folks, but not enough yet to justify a 2800Km round trip! I do file the emails in specific folders, so that when the numbers do build sufficiently I begin planning the trip.
Try to keep in mind that it's not altogether easy to organise these tours, and despite popular opinion I am just a regular human being with a regular life, that throws regular family and other personal issues at me. On top of that I'm trying to slice myself thin enough to cover all I need to in this business. I've had to start this whole thing off from the bones of my butt - I've had no capital injection at all, no huge business loans, no fancy premises.... I'm not winging, just trying to underscore that ASR is not some huge multi-branch operation with piles of assets - what I have I own, and I struggle every month to keep the mortgage and bills paid. I don't expect any handouts, my ethics - and life experience sofar - tells me that if I want to get somewhere, I need to put in the work. So that's what I'm trying to do.
I'm aware that sometimes I might push the limits of people's patience - all I can do for now is apologise and do my best to keep on top of things. I try to make sure that the results are worth the wait.
Cheerz!

hey greg
whenever you're back in sydney i wouldn't mind a cluster install
maybe in the school holidays???
guys, Greg has pushed my patience limits a number of times over the years and Im sure at one stage or 2 Ive said something either to him or under my breath about it then regretted it.
The reason - because I look at his work, his artworks, and realise its worth the wait, worth the "screw around", worth the multiple phone calls and emails.
Its frustrating not being able to just book a day in 2 or 3 weeks time and get it all done, but its worth continually hassling him if you are in fact keen for the work.
I agree - call him if you want work done. I have gone months between replies to emails, but usually a call gets answered within a try or two. I'm still waiting on a few spare $ for puddle lights in the SV6 - Oh I wish lol

Thanks Mattso - this is the key here guys.... IF YOU'RE KEEN!!!
Seriously, instead of getting pissed with me about it, maybe you could get pissed at the tyre-kickers.... Please understand that I get a little frustrated too, with the time I spend in replying to questions only to have no further contact, even some customers who make bookings and then don't show at all or pull out at the eleventh hour. Swathes of emails too, from people asking questions which are already answered here, or somewhere, which with a little effort can yield the info required before the question is even presented...
Josh, if you want to get hold of me - please don't depend on me seeing PMs or posts in the forum! As requested in another thread, PLEASE EMAIL ME or make a call.
Oh, to those calling me.... If you're calling from a private number, then it's likely that I won't answer. I'm dodging some calls from private numbers at the moment - won't be forever, but need to for now.... (I'm sure I'm not alone there...) Additionally, if I'm in the middle of someone else's job, then I probably won't take the call. Voicemail works though, and I try to get back to "real" inquiries within a day or two. If I slip, I'm sorry - I am human - and far from perfect.
If you need to call a couple of times, please don;t think you're hassling me. If I haven't gotten back to you from a previous call, the first words out of my mouth will most likely be an apology....
The other option is to double my prices, then I can hire an off-sider....

All I can say Phreddy - please dont get to down on yourself and give the caper away - you do top shelf work! I know how hard it is to do what you do with so little resources.
