Hi everyone,
i recently parked my vz commodore with everything working fine, it sat around for maybe 5 days. When i drove it again next the radio had nothing displayed on the head unit and no buttons would work apart from the steering wheel controls.the radio itself worked fine, antenna went up, could listen to radio and cds, how ever no display and buttons on the head unit worked.
The air con was also playing up, the light would come on the button and work for a few minutes and then the light would go out and the aircon would stop. After waiting a while u could press the button again and the light would come on and work for a further two minutes before going out. But now the air con does not work at all. I bridged the terminals on the ac relay to make sure the compressor and clutch worked fine and they did. Does anyone know what the radio and ac share in common? or is it a random coincidence they play up at same time. no problems with any other elecs in car, rear demister works, blower fan works, all other dash controls work. i checked the power and earth supplies for radio and they seem to be fine, not sure which wires to check on ac switch plug though.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated, cause its doing my head in
