Lost dash functions

Hey phreddy I've been thinking about the dilema of losing dash functions when fitting an aftermarket head unit and came up with the idea of a piggy-back kind of control box with the circuitry and programing that is in the origional head unit, which is what i have been told by my local dealer as to why you lose the functions when you take the head unit out. Just windering if you could make such a pug in fix to the problem?

Get Holden to reflash the cluster and you will find the missing functions should return.

It seems extremely hard to get any Holden dealers to in fact do the re-flash, they are all too hesitant to try.
