Dash Display Problem

Hello all, sorry if this has been covered but I am new to this and was not able to find it. My problem is my digital dash readings on my VX wagon, odometer, distance to empty etc are fading. If I push against the plastic they come up clearly. For some reason my mechanic seems hesitant to look at the problem. Is this something that is hard to fix? It bothers me so I want to get it done, otherwise I cant read the displays without pushing against the plastic. Thanks!

The screws in the cluster housing may just need nipping up 2 make a better contact, if not u may need 2 make up a small thin spacer 2 go between the LCD screen and the housing. or u could even just try cleaning the contacts 1st with some alchol and if it still doesnt work u'll need 2 buy a 2nd hand cluster and swap the LCD screens over.

I took my cluster out (vt), removed the light behind the lcd display and squirted some contact cleaner in there. Worked great but by no means is a permanent fix. I'm relatively sure it is a contact problem but haven't bothered to take it apart again to try and fix permanently.

yeah it was a common problem with the VN-VS's and i think now the VT's ect.... r gettin on in age u may see this start happening i think but yeah if thats the case the next best thing 2 try is a replacement LCD screen
