Default VE Series 2 RCA Conversion

Just wanting to let everybody know how happy I am that I took the plunge and let Greg from ASR do the conversion on my brand new VE Series 2. I now have RCA outputs for running amps without having to use those horrible lOC's. This was the first Series 2 that Greg has done and there were a few differences between the Series 1 and Series 2 from what he could see. The obvious was the dash for starters. It was a fair bit different when it came to removing panels to get to the head unit but we got there in the end. Maybe Greg needs to charge a little more because of this...haha.

If there is anybody with a Series 2 that has been thinking of getting this done it's well worth the effort.

    Thanks Greg

Another happy customer - good to hear!

Did you get your whine / thump noises sorted?

I fixed the thump by moving the remote wire to the accessories feed under the glovebox. Just means now my amp goes off when the key does but that doesn't bother me one bit. I didn't really have engine whine but I was getting feedback from the brake lights (a voltage spike or drop) and that was heard through the speakers. I worked out that this may have something to do with the amp because when I just connected the 2 fronts to the amp bridged across the 2 channels of the amp the noise went away. It maybe has something to do with the internals of the amplifier itself.

So now I'm going to buy a mono amp dedicated to the sub and run the front speakers off my 4 channel I already have. That saves it working too hard as well.

He charges $165 for the series 1 but I think with the extra time required I would expect around $180 tops. Well worth it though.

Yeah both, he just makes it so they look like they are coming out from the side of the head unit. Your original speaker outputs are still there as normal and still work as normal.

Yep, soldered onto the internal circuit boards of your head unit - at the pre-amp stage (that's about as technical as I get with this lol)..
