Default Commodore Questions

Hi All!

I've recently bought myself a 2001 VX Commodore Executive Series 2. There are a few questions which I'd like to ask but please take it easy on me as I'm only new to posting =).

1. The steering wheel controls don't seem to be working, I was wondering if someone could give me some ideas on what the problem could be?

2. I was wondering if it was at all possible to purchase illuminated steering wheel controls?

Dan.

With your steeling wheel controls, do you have a standard head unit? or is it an aftermarket job? If it is an aftermarket headunit the controls would not work...

Thats the only thing I can think of...

Regarding illuminating the controls I would probably either wait for Phreddy to see this thread or look for a similar post in the vt/vx section. Click here

Pretty sure the high end models have illuminated steering wheel buttons so id say gettin hold of those would b ur best bet otherwise if all the wiring and the circuits inside r the same as a high end model u may only need 2 put in SMD LEDs in them.

Thanks, The headunit is completely stock, so I don't see any reason for it to not work =S. I'm thinking of putting in an aftermarket headunit that i removed from my old car before i sold it. I spoke to the guys at Northfield Car sound and they quoted $300 for the module to use the steering wheel controls with an aftermarket headunit >.<

With the steering wheel controls how would i find out if they're the same wiring and circuits as the higher end models, and which models exactly would they be?

Thanks, Dan
