Default Electronics Tech in Melbourne, Brisbane

I have many requests from people in Melbourne and Brisbane (and surrounds) to have my audio and lighting mods done - some guys have actually made the effort of driving to Sydney to get the work done, and then turn around and head home! PHEW!

Some members will recall the "Roadshow" tours I did to Brissy and Adelaide about 18 months ago, which were great - but unfortunately since I've had to re-enter full time work I'm not really able to plan such trips anymore.

SO......

I'm trying to find a reliable person in each of the above locations - preferably an auto enthusiast like us - who has some electronics training, but more importantly the hand tool and soldering skills required to perform the modifications to the Blaupunkt stereo and the various sub-assemblies for the lighting mods. As mentioned in other threads, it requires some specialised skills AND equipment, especially the lighting mods. I recommend not only a professional level soldering iron, but also a de-soldering station for the instrument cluster in particular.

Below are a couple of links to files on my website. (PDF format, so you'll need Acrobat Reader)...

Extract pages from the blue LED mod - http://www.asr-audio.com.au/files/BlueLightingIntro.pdf (3 MB)
[note - this is not the complete guide, that's over 30 pages...]

Early rev of the stereo mod guide - http://www.asr-audio.com.au/files/St...nst_rev1.1.pdf (3.7MB)

Anyone who might be interested in taking this work on an ongoing basis, and feels confident that they can do it, please get in touch. I'm not sayoing there will be a constant stream of people rolling up, but if I can direct the inquiries to someone local for these guys, then it can work out well for everyone.

Cheerz!

You and several others kicker12....

Somebody?? If you're good with surface mount and have access to a desoldering station, it's a breeze!

(and as Ant said - you get to work on some TASTY rides from time to time.... I'm booking in a Coupe 4 soon!!)

Anyhow, still waiting....

I would wonder how you could have such a steady hand to solder leds and such a shaky one when taking pics. Hahaha

How are we going on the VT-VX kits?.

Though i just blew my first LED, But it was rough hands more, I broke it myself, And it was only just holding together over bumps, Pulled it out and went ****!.

A little down the track, Maybe after i do the fuel pump, I will have some spare money for the conversion, Looking at just after Xmas probably.

I have no certificates, but I have offered to do this stuff for a few guys (just waiting on globes to come) and would love to get involved

I have done all the electrical work in my car, and since about 10 have done a lot of electrical work, at home (Had one of those 300 in 1 things) and at school (Was best in my class ) anything els
