Phreddy's Car
Hi Phreddy,
I have had a search for you install pics and cannot seem to find. I remember a piano hinge and shelf mounted board for the amp/s.
Is it possible to get tosee these pics again and also your thoughts on an install (for a different spin on things).
Everyone, post up your pics of your VY install if it is a bit different as anyone can make a false wall/use the back seats and mount an amp to it!

Hay Garfa - I'll find those pics and post them up tonight.
I like that mounting spot, because it keeps the amps tucked up well out of the way, and the checkerplate prevents anything that might be rumbling around in the boot from slamming the amps about. Plus, the big lump of aluminium checkerplate acts as an additional heatsink! My amps never break a sweat. (the piano hinge simply facilitates installation/connection and maintenance)
Thanks Richie - Maaate, what's happened to yer front bumper?? (avatar pic...)
Cheerz!

Hang about! I just found the thread....
Amp Mount In VY/VZ
(it's a little neater now actually - I tidied it up a tiny bit, but I still have those rotten straight-entry RCA plugs on the end of the cables. Right-angle ones would be nicer...)

Hey Garth.
I can't forsee any problems, provided it's not being driven hard all the time. I had one of the older Response amps upside-down in my VT (and for a short while in the VZ) and it never bothered it too much.
The problem I do see is that you will have to use some kind of "interface" between the parcel shelf and the amp, as the metalwork is pretty lumpy and bumpy - difficult to mount the amp down to a firm base. Naturally a | | |
