Please read before posting new threads

G'day All.

There have been a large number of threads created in this sub-forum which are of a more general nature, not relating specifically to ASR products and services. Usually this is being done by relatively new users who are unfamiliar with the site layout - please guys, you're very welcome here but take a little time to familiarise yourself with the site before posting threads.

PLEASE BE AWARE that this is the ASR Audio & Electronics sponsor's sub-forum, and is not the correct place for general queries regarding car audio or electrical matters.

There are specific sub-forums for these general types of audio and electrical/electronic discussion, scroll down the main page a little further and there they are following the individual state cruise club forums. The sponsor's forums have been placed at the top of the list for exposure purposes, not so that they immediately attract general discussion posts.

For a short while longer I will move these threads to the appropriate sections, but before too long they will simply be deleted. In most cases they are listed as the first post of any kind by a new user, and after the questions are answered a majority of them can't even be bothered to thank anyone - and it's the last post they make until they need more assistance. These forums work best when everyone contributes - but even if you're not able to immediately it's a basic mark of respect to thank someone for helping out.

OK, two purposes....

Firstly, bumping to the top of the sticky list....

Secondly, a notification that I'm getting close to no longer moving theads to the appropriate sections (threads which have nothing at all to do with ASR A&E) - before too much longer I will just delete them. It's apparent that no care is being taken by the poster to place the thread into the appropriate section, it's just simply dropped into the first place that's convenient.

Please guys - and I'm talking to the forum newbies here - these are always posted by guys with very low thread counts. It seems like they're only here to get their question answered - the whole reason these forums work is through contribution.

Firstly, please take notice of where you're posting. This works well for everyone, esecially you! If you post in the right place, you're much more likely to get an answer which makes sense!

Also, this forum is by far the best Commodore community on the web - there's little or none of the "empire building" we're constantly seeing in most other Holden enthusiast's site, and it all works because we share our experiences and knowledge. All of us. Even the smallest contribution or suggestion might be useful to someone, and some of 'em have been to me too!

Anyway, rant over - I moved a couple of threads tonight, but I have a hard enough time doing my own housekeeping to be doing others as well.

BTW - Forum mods.... let me know if I'm out of line here...

Know your pain Phreddy. I seem to be moving a thread out of here every couple of days. Sooner or later we're just going to delete them and hopefully the poor sods will see this thread and subsequent message.

greg there is a solution to that problem, being give me access to move/delete like I have in the JCCC section and all these problems (and the clutter they make) will go away Im on quite a number of times a day and check the ASR section often.

I suggested it in the help section of the forum but I dont think anyone payed attention to it.
