What is the purpose of installing these phone buttons? I'm looking at getting a nokia ck-7w kit.
does work well too, I installed one in my car with the CK-7W
Easy one button push to answer and it keeps the factory look.
Did it ever! Think I know more than I needed too now, cheers juzoHere ya go mate. Will answer all your questions![]()
I'm gunna buy and install the kit as it comes I don't know if I have the skills to connect up a factory phone button but will look into it.
wow, thought about a factory blue tooth set up but thought it wouldn't work as i have an aftermarket headunit in my vy, but defenatly going to try this now with the nokia kit and the factory buttons, can you have the hang up and answer buttons as factory for the nokia kit like the kit in oz38's post?
not 100% sure, although it'll depend on the kit.
The first post it being setup to use the Sony Erricson HCB30 which needs an answer and hang up button, whereas the one I installed and the one in the later post is to use the Nokia CK7W, which only uses one button answer/hang up, although you could always pop in another button for the looks ;P
Although that said the button is at a fairly difficult level, I had to get my dad to help whose a sparky otherwise I would have been a bit confused
ASR is about to announce a new product, so it might as well be here and now....
A cable and interface adaptor to sit between the Nokia bluetooth kit (cheap, available, connectable) with the Holden factory switch - or better still, my custom switch with the Blueotooth logo engraved on it. (looks HEAPS better than a 20th century phone handset)
The advantage is this - firstly, it's fitted with the right plugs on all ends. Just plug it in - no cutting and stripping, joining, or other messing around. Secondly, instead of the light in the bluetooth switch just being constantly "on", it mimics the status LED which is fitted to the original Nokia button - it flashes in certain sequences to indicate status and so on.
So team up a standard Nokia bluetooth module (CK-1W or CK-7W) and microphone with the new ASR interface cable and factory switch - and it's all done - neatly and conveniently - for less than half the cost of the Holden setup. Bewdy!
Anyone interested? Initial run in progress at the moment - pricing TBA. (I imagine in the vicinity of $65-75 including the switch with the custom engraved Bluetooth logo)
Cheerz!

I would also be interested in this. Been thinking about a car kit lately.
Only problem with my car is whoever had it before the people I got if off put a ericsson car kit in and cut some of the the wires on the original phone plug.Mine might need a bit of extra work...
But besides that![]()
Don't look now, but there's one too many in this room and I think it's you.
well Greg ya know Im always up for a pilot
Also I still need to catch up with you and have a chat
yeh i'm defenatly interested phreddy, i'll get a nokia ck-7w kit ready for your kit to plug it all in and godid some pre-delivery on new honda's earlier in the year and this is how there blue tooth systems are, all plug and go, no cutting wires at all, so if you know anyone with a newish honda wanting blue tooth get a factory kit, all plug and go and any cutting spots are marked on the back of the trims, easy as, nin fact thats how bassically all there acsessories are,
so yeh defenatly interested in a plug and go system, saves the head aches
will the switch be a direct replacement for the factory blank switches behind the window switches?
Went to Holden today to get the connector and terminals so I could wire up my bluetooth kit but theres none in NZ! Just in case any Kiwis are thinking of getting them.......... Gotta wait till next week as it takes a couple of days to get here from Oz.
Costs $24.70NZ ($19.70AUS) for 1x Connector and 6x Terminals.
Still want that switch with the Bluetooth logo on it but in the mean time will just use the ugly nokia one.
Juzdvs - don't buy them!! First up, that price is a bit much, plus I'll include these as part of the adaptor kit wiring. The kit will be offered in two "flavours". One with the Holden connector already attached (to mate up with the connector in the factory harness) for cars which haven't been "attacked". The other version will have bullet terminals attached, and extra terminals supplied to crimp on to the wires - with a full connection reference chart of course - for situations where that connector has been cut off.... That's not quite so "plug-n-play", but all the other connections are done for you to the box and the switch etc. In all cases, there are four wires to connect up for the Nokia box power harness - again a reference chart is provided.
(ultimately I aim to chat with Nokia directly, so I can be supplied with the black box, instruction book, microphone, and power harness - don't need the speaker, brackets, or any of the other stuff - then I can offer a complete kit!)
I'm just copmpleting a couple of prototypes now so I can snap some photos - will post them up as soon as it's done. I'm gonna start another thread to formally announce this too, will probably post the pics there.
Stay tuned!
There will also be an option on the switch - either the standard Holden one (with the boring old 20th century phone handset icon) at my cost (approx. $25), or the customised one with a Bluetooth logo - that'll be $10 more. For those who have had lighting colour changes, I can fit a LED to your switch to match your other lighting - $5 additional.

ohhhhhhhh ok I get what your doing now. I've only used piggyback connectors on the wires so I have left the factory connector plug intact. When do you think I will be able to get my hands on one of these kits with the bluetooth logo switch as well?
Thanks mate
lol i should get this as well... i need to fill up the 3 spare buttons
