Some exciting news folks - most will have been exposed to JBL at some stage in their lives. They've been around since Moses, and have had their dealings in sound systems at all levels and have a healthy level of respect amongst their peers.
Through an arrangement made recently with the Aussie JBL distributor, I am now able to offer selected products from the JBL Car Audio range at very competitive prices. I can supply only, or install as well - your choice.
JBL works very well with the overall "Stealth Audio" concept. They don't manufacture head units, so have no desire to sell me one. What they do make is bloody good amps and speakers, and are certainly high on my list of recommendations when spec'ing a system. Soon I'll have my demo mule kitted out with the "Jayb" gear - out with the old, in with the new. Have to be able to demo it, right??
More info on the ASR website soon, upgrade still in progress there. Happy to answer any inquiries though.

Fantastic news!!
Its a nice skill/service to be able to provide, modifying commodore head units and installing the sound gear at once. Colourfull dash makes a nice makeover too!
Thats heaps good Phreddy, its good to hear ASR coming along quite nicely now for you..
How are their 6 inch -- 6.5 inch splits?? Worth a look at for the VY? the Alpine ones are on the way out I think!
Hmmm - Some very nice looking splits due for release soon Josh - for now there's the GT5-650C which is a nice 6.5" split solution. (check specs on JBLs webby...) They're a nice mid-range solution, but when the new GTO series are released there's a really nice looking pair of splits - the next level up in performance actually, and not too much more of a spend by all indications. (yes a little spendier that the GT5-650C, but not by an obscene amount...)
Oh - and Matt - might be a very nice 5 channel amp for you to check out....
Paul - I should have given you a bit of a demo the other night!!I have my custom box housing two GTO1202D woofers (I still have most of my boot, I can get to the spare, and it's spot on 2 cubic feet - perfect for most dual sealed 12" setups) - I'll be sure to give you a look and a listen soon. Still yet to check out that tech2 thing too, but will be soon.
Later all!![]()

thats great your starting to work with jbl,
i have been reading ur posts, i live in sydney, i have wanted one of your light conversion thingos done to my vy, but wont have the money for a while.
so if i got the console lights changed you would also be able to set up a headunit for me at the same time? maybe even my hole sound system?
nice work. u can hook me up with some next time u come down then
Hit the star under this post if it was any help to you =D
i have a JBL setup, bloody insane sound!!
I have JBL all round too (splits, rear doors, ported sub, 4chan amp and a mono block amp) Very well made products, good company to get in bed with Phreddy!
Heh - yeh Farlig - I've been around JBL in their many incantations for a LOOONG time now. That's why they gain more than a little respect with me - there's not much about the actual reproduction of sound that they're not invloved with - from live performance support, home hi-fi/theatre, public address, theatres/auditoriums, recording studios.... You can't look in too many of these without spotting their logo somewhere... And they don't try to "stick their fingers into too many pies" either - they concentrate on what they're good at. Simple.
I'm really pleased about it, and can't wait to start turning over some product. In the past whenever I've tried to get hold of their gear, I don't meet with much co-operation from dealers, hopefully the distributors will be a little more helpful.

I'm considering a setup exactly like the above, but with amber instead of blue.
I asked Phreddy about the light once, how it looks very bright in the pictures, he says it's just how they turn out in photos, and in real life they are similar to the stock globes in terms of intensity.
