    Default sheet metal/aluminum rocker cover

hey hey, can you guys do sheet metal(or aluminum) rocker covers? some guy in the states is looking at getting some made up for a bmw m10, and i was curious if i could get something done over here, might be a bit cheaper.

would be looking at it being a simple as possible, with a screw type oil cap, and a -6 or -8 fitting for the breather.

the stock ones have a funky baffle on the inside for the breather, im not fussed on having that replicated, it vents into a catch can anyway

i can send a stock one down if you want, to copy from.

what sort of price you think itd cost to make me one.

    pics for reference

edit: and a pic of the head

    Hak,
We could build something like that but the cost would be prohibitive, We would have to do a laser program for the rail and a one off 10mm thick Alum rail or even a steel would be expensive and we would have to build a one off jig. Maybe the one from America isn't to much if they are set up to manufacture them.

We have.... But people are getting them from china for dirt cheap, we can't compete, although they are junk people still by them. Same as our pans, few companys have sent them to china to be copied, they crack and leak and rarely fit nicely, but because they are so cheap people still buy them....and only learn the second time around that they should have bought one of ours.

    Ben
tell me about it. I'm a sheetie too working in HVAC industry. I've seen some garbage being brought over from China, eventhough customers don't want it it still gets pushed onto them. It makes our product here "overpriced" eventhough it's almost next to nothing. Asian trade is ####ing the industry so to say. We've lost a significant chunk of work to imported asian crap. In the end though, it's their product that will be falling appart not ours.

    Default vt fuel tenk cover

What we really need is a cover that looks like a drop tent now this will sell for like 300 or so a pop and it just bolts on
2 or 3 mill alloy box with the two stainless steel straps
    No one has these
I'd make them but I can't weld or bend

I think you could probably multiply that price by 10 - one does not just simply 'knock up' something custom for $350

It would take me at least half a day to a day to RnD one, not mention putting a car up on the hoist. $90hr to RnD something plus materials. $350 is a bit short, I wouldn't even get out of bed.
