Not really, i reckon perspex enclosures are crap, let alone any pre-fab one. And you need to know if the internal dimensions of the enlosure are within the manafactuer's reccomendations. And being a ported box, depending on what frequency you want to run the sub at, the port wont be tuned correctly to the Type R, . I'd personally run the Type R in a sealed enclosure myself, you'll save money , the bass wil be clearer and you will run less risk of damaging the sub....

if not GL pro sound near by can make a box suitable for a type R

    for 180 sealed mdf

not bad i guess since a alpine box is around 300+

Mate you need to decide first on what you want, ported, sealed, bandpass ect... Once you know what you want, then look, right now your just looking for a box...

haha you can't just go to bunnings and get a box, well maybe a cardboard one, but they will supply you with 18mm, (possibly thicker) MDF, cut to size, for you to assemble at home. Find a jionery and have them cut the sub, and terminal holes for you. Pick up youu terminal sockets from Jaycar, like 5 bucks...and your set to go..Otherwise yeah just go with one of those cheap pre-fab sealed ones..But a Type R deerves a good box...

Box looks alright OP, but i wouldnt put such a good sub, in such a cheap box..The one Stone X reccommended looks bit sturdier..Maybe get a cheap one like the one you mentioned, as close to the reccomendations as you can get, and then add some fiberglass resin to the inside of the box...Reinforced cheap box , all up around $70, VS $100+ pre fab job...
