Mp3 Mod on Single CD - CD no go

I have done the Mod of fitting the headphone cable to the circuit board to plug in an Mp3 player - the wiring went all good and it plays fine for about 5 seconds then the Head Unit displays "CHECK DISC" and changes to radio.
I have burnt the 5 minute blank that was linked to the thread as an audio disc and it plays on my 96 Yamaha 5 disc and on Windows Media Player. Also the VY plays other CDs fine - any hot tips??? Disc are CD-R.

I got it sorted - just used a Sony CD-R to burn the 5 min blank and we're all good!!
