Speaker or headunit issue.

I have a JVC headunit and a couple of pioneer 3 way speakers, was running the front 2 speakers off the head unit and nothing else.

Anyway, all week its been all good and fine then last night during a song or two for a second it goes quiet then back to normal.
Today im driving and then all of a sudden the left front speaker makes a low crackle at normal volume, and the right speaker has gone really quiet at the same time.

Any idea what could cause that?

Could be a number of things....

Speaker/s has blown, causing the amp to trip into protect etc.
Problem / short in the wiring, common in the door jam where the cable goes through into the door.

Hmm, well i did run new wiring from the right hand speaker, hopefully its that.
