    Default Eurovox 8491

I recently replaced my old eurovox 8491 unit with a JVC KD-606.
this new head unit has a 10 stacker input but the connection type is different to the one running of the 10 stacker in the boot.. is ther some way to connect these together?

and on the back of the old eurovox unit there is a coax plug above the areal plug.. im guessing its where the 10 stacker plugs in to get power? or maybe something to do with the a phone jack that is under the dash?

any help would be appreciated.. i know the old 10 stackers are not the nicest things but i want to use it anyway.. im not after replies telling me to get a new 10 stacker and save the time trying to get the old one to work with the new head unit..

    Hi there mate,

In my experience I wouldnt even try to hook up the factory stacker to your new unit as the stackers in those cars did not handle MP3's and would always fail..... (lots of common problems with eurovox stackers)
As for the plug if it looks like an aerial plug only smaller, then that is for the diversity antenna which in a calais is located in the rear window above the demister elements....

    cheers

If the old stacker was working before you changed over the head-units then it may be worth something to somebody wanting to replace a failed unit, not that much though.

A Diversity Antenna is basically like having 2 antennas in one.... It just gives an overall better radio reception from the front of the car to the back.....
    I hope this helps....

    cheers
