Default Pioneet Head Unit and Aerial - Different tack needed

    Hi everyone ,

First time poster and long time lurker, Wanted to say great site but also ask a question.

I have just replaced the H/U in my VT SS with a Pioneer Deck. Setup is not using amps just the head unit and a few speakers. HAving no changed out the deck, the aerial now doesnt function ( Up and Down) im wondering if it is possible to use the remote power cable from the deck that usually switches on an amp to fire up the antenna when the car / head unit is switched on.

I understand that it will stay up during cd and ipod use. Then hoping that it would retract when the deck is turned off completely. If this is the case can someone tell me what wire to connect the remote switch wire from the deck to?

Ps the original wiring loom harnes is not their but i am assure all of the wiring is.

    Cheers

Yeah mate you should even have a power antenna wire coming from your head-unit as well as a remote turn on wire.

Have a look in the VK-VZ wiring colours thread at the top of this section, it should have the wire colour for the power antenna (the "up" one i beleive).

So all i would need to do is wire the blue - Remote amp wire to the Up Aerial wire and the Aerial will go up when the Deck is powered on and then down when the deck is powered off?

Pioneer head units only have the one wire, no dedicated antenna wire.
