hole diameter for 6" speakers

Hey, currently in the process of welding up the parcel shelf in my VN to suit 6" speakers again, and to make it roadworthy (wasnt me who cut it). Does anyone know the hole diameter for 6" speakers? I want to cut the holes in the plates before theyre welded in to make life easier.

depends on the exact speaker mate. they will generally be around the same size, but some are bigger than others.

Measure the lip of your speakers. Or if they are new, they should come with a template.

Ah right. Hmm well I havnt got any speakers to go in yet. Which is why I thought I'd try my luck here.

Bingo! Found a template for a 16cm speaker (6" equivalent) on the Pioneer site. At 100% view I measured 5 7/16". But I'll just print it to scale and trace it.

EDIT: Stupid me, measuring on-screen wouldnt have been accurate. After printing it to scale its a little over 5"
