Hey I was just wondering how you wire up quad axel speakers? I have never used them in my car before.
what speakers did you buy? i'm assuming you mean 4-way speakers? if so, you just hook them up like any other speaker![]()
Some incredibly el-cheapo speakers to tide me over to i can get new ones because i blew out the stock ones lol.
Can't really go wrong for $34, they can only impress me if they actually work. xD
Ah okay, but how would i be able to utilize the extra cable points?
Explain what you're talking about... What is "quad axel"? Sounds like something a truck would have, not a speaker.
Are you saying they have more than 2 terminals to connect wires?
Firstly if for whatever reason you blew the stock one's (you should be addressng this issue first) adding another set of cheap ones isnt going to solve your problem. Your merely throwing your money away.
Secondly, my advice for when posting a question, is to include as much info as you can about the product's in question, even a photo if possible.
The speakers should only have single Pos and Neg terminlas. Unless the tweeters are driven seperately, in which case they will have a crossover, with seperate inputs for the woofer, and tweeter.
geez i'm a slow typer, 2 replies since i hit the reply button lol
Well firstly if $34 dollars is going to break someone then i would doubt they had a car, because a family spends more at mc donalds for dinner.
Secondly they are only in if i do put them in till i get a pair of sonys from a mate.
The box said quad axel 4 way speakers, I have no idea what is ment by that as i dont do a lot with sound systems.
so you have two pos and two neg on each? weird as, one is probably low/mid pass and the other is high, you got a box or manual? cheap because they don't have a built in crossover?
can you grab some photos? maybe we'll be able to have a look and diagnose these strange speakers.
and what headunit are you running? i bet you could easily blow stock speakers powered by an aftermarket hu![]()
Do they have instructions? What brand and model are they?
I had some similar, cheap branded chinese speakers that were like this, I hooked the wires from the head unit upto one side of the speaker then looped wires round to the other terminals, I didnt notice a difference between having one set of terminals hooked up or both terminals
Doesn't sound like anything I've seen before. Post up a pic or link

Nothing special, those terminal post's are common, used to aid in different wiring configurations such as running another speaker in parallel. just wire them as per normal.
Power is measured in DECIBEL
Yeah thats not what I had in mind. Just wire them up to one of the + and one of the -ves. Ignore the other ones

Man where did you buy those from, they give a nominal rating of 225 watts lol
I think Super Cheap sell Sound 4 gear... Repco used to but I think they've moved up in the world, slightly![]()
Got them in the specials bin at repco lol. I thourght atleast they will be better then the no rear speakers i have at the moment untill i get good ones, lol
I'd prefer no rear speakersActually, I do have no rear speakers

Haha stoneX I dont either, and it annoys me.
CommodoreVP, is that good? i know nothing about speakers.. xD
If you have good front speakers, you won't even know you're missing rears![]()
