hey dude haha, the dvd player is the same depth as any single din dvd player i've come across, the fascia sticks out a bit further, but this allows it to be tilted and for the disc to come out. hope that made sense
I've read mixed opinions on this. most people say it cant be done without modifying the heater box, yet i've seen VS Statesmans for sale advertised with Double DIN units in them? I know for a fact that I had a flipout screen in the top part of my VR SS, with the head unit in the lower part. So in theory a double DIN should fit fine? does anyone know for a FACT that it won't fit? As in has tried and failed? I'm not worried about the cutting of the bit in the console in between the 2 compartment im just worried if it will fit debth wise, also its a Soundstream unit if that helps. Thanks![]()

I think its partly the wiring behind the unit that cause people grief, but you should be able to fit it without modyfying the heater box too much.
Perhaps send a PM to hakhawk, as I believe he knows for certain.
I had a DVD player and a flip out screen in my VS. I had the screen in the standatd DIN slot and the DVD player in place of the pocket (slot with rubber mat in it). I had to cut the back of the pocket off and attatch the metal sleeve that came with the DVD player in its place.
Everything fitted in fine and i had no troubles with space or wiring.
