So i finally got my Splits in and connected the amp and did everything else. They sound good (really good) compared to the previous set up, but when i turn i right up, for example, let's say i turn it to volume 50- it will cut out, until i turn it down, then it comes back on. But it will run at say volume 49 all day. Each time i have to find it's cut out point, and then keep it under that..... What would be causing it to cut out a certain volume level each time/??
Is your amp going into protection mode?

Someone yesterday or a couple days ago had a couple strands of a negative wire crossing over that was causing his splits to cut out at high volume, so maybe check for that.
Apart from that, I would be looking at the amp. Could be going into protection mode as Danja said

it's could be because you have the gain set to high on the amp and it's pushing the amp to hard and making it over heat and sending it into protect mode. so just turn the gain down abit and see how you go
wiring is done with ring terminals at either end, so it isn't wires touching. It's nothing to do with the gain, i'm guessing though it may be battery related to a point, because the battery isn't holding full charge..

So when youre testing the splits, youve got sub/s hooked up as well?
Try disconnecting the sub/s, wnd then see if the splits cut out at the same volume level. This will determine whether its voltage thats causing the problem.
Same as Philty, double check the earth.
150db in a commodore =
Earth is as good and tight asyour ever going to getI'm 99% sure now that it's battery related, as i had the splits running, with the engine on (no sub) then turned the car off, connected the Monoblock, but it wouldn't power on at all, and then the car didn't start, the battery was completely dead. So i'll see how it goes with anew battery shortly
