i have a 5ch cadence fxa5100 amp powering 2 pioneer subs (TS-W257D2) at the moment they are underpowered. im looking at getting a pioneer GM-D7400M mono, and using =
the 5th channel of the cadence which puts out 500wrms and the pioneer puts out 400wrms.
should i use 4g to both amps or will i need to use a distribution block to split 4g wire from battery into 8g wire to the amps, im looking at using a distribution block.
the other issue i have is the RCA cables. i have 1 sub out but i need 2. is it ok to use rca splitters for the sub in on both amps, or is there something else i need?
if i use splitters are there any quality cables out there as ive only seen cheap dick smith ones, which i can't imagine are high qaulity.
cheers,
Chris
So you wanna power 1 sub from the Cadence and the other sub from the Pioneer?
Anyways to answer your questions:
* I would personally use 4awg to each amp, but you "could" get away with using one run of 4awg and splitting it into 2x 8awg cables for each amp.
* Its fine to use RCA splitters on the sub preouts, Quality isnt really a huge issue as their only ~30cm long, but Jaycar do make a pair that arent bad.

yeah i thought it would be cheaper to use both amps rather than buy a mono amp big enough to power both subs and then have a 5 ch amp that i use 4 channels.
thanks for the info
i will look for those jaycar spliters.
how would i go about fusing the amps?
currently i have a 100amp fuse at the battery and nothing else.
the cadence amp came with a 30amp fuse but it would only fit 8g wire into it so i didn't use it.
If the Cadence amp only has 8awg fittings then there you go, 4awg into a D.B. then 8awg to each amp.
About fusing the amps, use a fused D.B.
