Why don't you wire it to the ignition wire in the radio loom? That's the normal place people connect it.

That's the accessories wire, he want the radio to come on with ignition.

if i was to do it i would just run a single wire from the ignition wire coming from your ignition barrel, this would require finding the correct wire and soldering the new wire to it. if your not confident doing that maybe try to find a mate who is.

Can i ask why you want the radio to come on with ignition?

Oh, so you don't want it to work unless the car is running? For what reason?

Are you saying the unit does not turn itself off with the key turned to the off position?

It should be wired to the accessories circuit, unless someone has dodgied it and wired it all to constant power

As i said above, can you turn it on with no key in the ignition?

By the sounds of it, its been wired wrong, it should already turn on/off with the key

I checked the wires from the car and the only ones that are connected to the deck is a red one a green and black and the rmote wire for the amps. I looked but couldnt find any more wires where could they be?

Red from car? youre stock wiring loom dosent have a red cable?

You should have the red wire coming from your head-unit connected to the yellow wire in the stock loom.
The yellow wire coming from your head-unit should be connected to the orange/white wire in the stock loom.

The reason why your head-unit dosent turn off with the ignition is because the red wire isnt connected to the "ACC" wire. Dose your head-unit retain its memory (like station presets, clock, sound settings) ?

This is in your VX right?

You should also have some type of earth connected for the head-unit to work. Hopefully its not just earthing through the antenna lead...that can cause some problems.
