Orion HCCA15.2 Subwoofer - Worth it?

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a sub (currently don't have one at all), I used to have a Hifonic Olympus 2412 (12" 2400rms 1ohm sub) but now my gf has got it. I've been looking around and found the Orion HCCA15.2 subwoofer. The subwoofer has a re-cone available which is good I think.

In In-Car Entertainment awards 2009 list, the 18" version of the sub is awarded silver in SPL. So I thought the 15" would be a pretty decent sub. I want a 15" subwoofer, because I've only owned 12" and I like my bass.

It's going to cost $1325.

Has anyone had any experience with them??

Havent had any experience with them but i can recommend the SPL Dynamics 15s, go to spldynamics.com.au and have a look at them. The XTR series are primarily a SQ subwoofer, but the build quality and power handling make it quite a decent SPL subwoofer.

Thx Holdenboy, I've had a look at their website - at their SPL subs, they are rated for 1500rms. I'll have to read some reviews because I've never heard of them before. Thx though, I'll keep that in mind.

I dont "work" for them, i am a distributor of their products though. I wasnt when i purchased two of their XTR series 15s, but was very impressed with the build quality and value for money so decided to become a distributor.

The XTRs are rated for 1500wrms but i assure you, they'll take triple that without a problem, i know a guy who uses them with more than 8kw EACH (2 x DD Z1s) and they havent missed a beat.

i would go with a RE MT if youy are after some serious bass. Contact Phil from Dee gee imports and shot him a email. They are way better then the HCCA sub. For amps the Sound digital is up among the top amp makers in the world like DD, stetom,hifonics,Soundstream .etc

Just do some reasearch before you buy.
