    Default Just bought a system

    Hey guys,

I just bought an entry level sub-woofer system for my little lancer off ebay because the current speakers don't produce any bass. Now what exactly will I need. The system I bought includes:
    - 2 x 10" subs
    - amp
    - ported box to suit
    - power lead

Now I'm a massive noob at this as this will be my first speaker install ever so what else do I need? I'm guessing just some speaker wire to run from the amp to the subs, a ground wire and an RCA lead for the headunit to the amp. This is all right isn't it?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers guys.

it's also help to run a positive power cable to co-exist with your earth lead

and based on your list, you'd also need a fuse block, and an RCA set to reach from head unit, (if it's a factory unit, you won't have RCA outs, that's another little game depending on budget) and if the amp doesn't have a highpass/lowpass filter, you'll need a standalone one.

It comes with a positive power lead. I might just go down to an auto shop and get an amp wiring kit. I bought a sony headunit for it and it has an RCA out so that parts ok and the amp has the filters.

    Thanks for the tips.

if i was you i would just go ad buy an amp wiring kit. this will contain a red power cable (even though you already have one), a black ground cable, Fuse holder and fuse, rca cables, blue remote turn on wire, and speaker wire. everything you need.

Good call on the remote wire, i forgot that in the list of missing items... But you could pick up a roll for a few bucks...
