    Default 6.5" speaker pods

    hey guys, i am upgrading my front speakers (6.5" splits) but when i pulled the door skins off i found that someone has messed around with the pods and there totaly buggered, is there anyway to make some out of mdf?

    There is, but its not easy.....you need to get them just right so the door trim goes back on properly, its also even harder if you want to get the angle similar to the original ones.
    Why not just go to your local wreckers and buy another set?

    Making up MDF versions is better for sound (stronger), but harder to get right.

    Yep, make an MDF "frame" of the shape, cover it with fleece and fibreglass it

    have you got any suggestions on how to do it, i would prefer this way over fibreglassing

    It is for someone who has never fibreglassed before, ideally you want to start by making up pods that arent restricted but an outer skin like these.

    the first thing i ever fibreglassed was my door pods, just read plenty of tutorials and only took me a couple of hours, the hardest part was getting the 2 rings the right shape.
