Has any one evey heard of the brand infinity?
I bought an Infinity Referance 611a amp, and it killed my subs, so i went back and asked about some tougher subs so the sold me kenwoods(which i thought werent that good) and they are insane!!!
So what im getting at has anyone bought a brand they have never heard of and it has turned out to be really good?
Take it easy, just go slow, kinda like a ricer, just try and make less noise.
I do have respect for road rules AND im a P-plater. Ok im lying...but i am a P-plater.
Mate, the more you get into things like this the more brands you will find are out there. The big brands like alpine, pioneer, kenwood etc are all the basic gear, then there are shit brands that you will never have heard of and high end brands you will only find in a few specialty shops.
If you want to read about a couple high-end brands I bet you haven't heard of have a look here - New Front Speaker Selection Help

I'd never heard of Rainbow. I was heading into a store, with a mate, who had already made up his mind that he was buying a set of Alpine Type R splits. One of the sale reps, reccomended he have a listen to a set from Rainbow. After comparing the 2 set's, he went with the Rainbow's. Despite the gay name they may have, they are a very nice set of speakers. So thats one example..
Yeah that was the same with my amp, the rep said it was good, i didnt believe him until he gave me a demo. Now i dont just go for a brand imstarting to look into things a bit more and listen first.

mmm, chocolate speakers. Haha, just kidding i've never heard of them either.
Often you can fluke getting a good product from an unknown manufacturer. Many of the "unknown" brands use the same suppliers/OEMs as larger brands so you're getting the same/similar product with a different logo on it. That's why different brand amplifiers can have suspiciously similar internals.
On a Headphone forum i visit, it's not uncommon for people to report that their $2 ebay special earphones sound better then $50 branded ones. 95% of the cheap stuff is crap, but there are some bargains out there.
