cd player troubles-statesman 01 wh 5.7

i own a 01 statesman WH 5.7 litre, recently from coming home from a week holiday, the 10 stacker cd player does not work anymore, it worked fine before i left and no one has touched or driven the car, when i try an put it into cd mode it comes up wid E-99 on the screen an then goes back onto the radio.... is there anyone who may be able too help? or have any tips as too what the problem is? cheers
