Ok
here is the set up
Deck : Pioneer DEH-P4650MP 50x4 MP3
Fronts: TS-E1076 4inch 110w 2ways Pioneer 25RMS
Rears : TS-A6991S 6x9 460w 5ways Pioneer 80RMS
Amp : Jay Car Response 2 Channel AMP 80RMS
Fronts are Powered from the deck
Rears are Powered from the Amp
Since installing the Amp last week end the fronts just dont go as hard as they used to.
Would the deck on detection of RCAs route more of the mid and low range signal to the rear leaving the fronts mainly for high range ?
Ive set the fad all the way to front and for sure im not getting a lot of low or mid out of those fronts anymore.
Its driving me nuts, so any ideas would be appreciated.
I'm not sure on that headunit but it is very possible that the headunit has an intergrated crossover inside that comes into play when the RCA's are in use. If this is the case, then somewhere in the settings you should be able to turn it off.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
you have also got to look at the set up, the fronts are only 24watt and powered from the hu. the 6x9s are like double the power and now have their own amp. to you the fronts may seem like they have lost power, but it is more likely that they are playing normally, you have just got much more power going to the rear now and are drowning the fronts out.
i personally had the reverse problem, when i got my first amp i powered the fronts as this is the most important sound stage in the car. i found that the RCA preout voltage on my hu was extremely low and therefore the volume was really low, the only way i could fix it was to up the gain, but this is not a good idea as it is not a volume control and the music became all distorted and sounded shit. solution = 4channel amp.
