hey crew
i know enough to be dangerous with car audiobut not enough for the fine tuning side of things.
ok, now for my question.
i have a full setup in my car, it works and is quite functional, but i want to change the boot/sub install in my boot, i do a fair bit of travelling so space for me is critical. Im not interested in purchasing new subs/sub as my current ones go alrigh
my current setup is 2x 10s facing the front of the car with the box installed on the hump of the boot under the parcel shelf, usual spot. i know that subs are best installed at the rear of the boot faceing the rear of the car which produces almost minimal cancelation coz it 'reflects' off the boot gives u the best sound in car.
now with the background out the way, what im wanting advice on is; i want to install the subs at the rear of the boot on either side of the boot. left & right sides facing each other. The spare wheel will still be accessable and will not removed as i travel..
Now with the subs facing each other will i get a massive cancellation happening? or will it be awesome sick to the power of rad?!

If your looking at buying the pre-made enclosures off ebay, it may be be a good idea to add a few more layers of fibreglass to strengthen it a little more....some people have said the fibreglass was a little thin in some places.
150db in a commodore =
thanks guys.
hozy thats essentially how i wanna set it up, but with the spare still in the stock location, i should, with whats in my head still be able to achive this. will be a very custom box.
holdenboy, with my current setup, it sounds ok, but with the boot open it sounds awesome. which i've read up on is the reflection wave off the boot causes this cancelation, which is why it sounds better with the boot open. so this new setup idea of mine will sound 'the same' as if the boot was open? essentially?
im not giong ebay pre-made, i'll be doing it custom mdf similar to hozy's pic.
This is also the way i had imagined my next setup. Amps mounted on the hump, and the subs at either side of the rear of the boot. would still allow for a fuctional boot (well somewhat anyways...)
yea i've had a bit of a think about it, and it'll still allow me to use the centre seat folded down, still have the depth coz the spare will still be in the stock location.
i was just double checking that sound will be better than my current setup.
