how do i get it as i am giving it to a mate to put in his VT commo.
So is there a way i can get it ?
Holden should be able to help you out with that.
Ye I bet they will. But they will charge you ~$70 from memory. My dad had to get his back cause his battery died and Phoenix Holden (where he brought it) didnt have the security code card... and they wanted to charge him because it costs them cash to search up the code. My dad argued with them that there should be a card in the car when he brought it and blah blah blah ... and they didnt end up charging him.
You might aswell buy a cheap deck ... ye it's a little more expensive but .. I recon its a better idea than having to pay $70 for a stupid code.... btw I don't know if the factory headunit can play mp3s or not but thats why I'd buy a new deck.
Deck: Alpine 9887
Speakers: Hertz HSK165 XL
Amps: Audison SRx2, SRx4 & Alpine M350
Subs: 2x Alpine 10" Type S
Twice I've gone to Holden to get the codes and neither time they have charged me. One minute looking up VIN details and bingo, code in my hand.

I don't know if it is company policy to charge to give out the codes, I wouldn't imagine so as it is for your Holden and them being a dealership and all. But if they started grumbling about having to do some work that they are getting paid for (btw how hard is it to sit in a chair in a air-conditioned office and type in some letters??? Its not like their computer programmers or anything.), I tell them to "suck it in princess". I'd be making damn sure I got a receipt saying what they are charging me for to make sure they aren't pocketing the money themselves.
