This isn't for a commodore but should be the same across every car.
I've got a little ricer lancer and have some 10" subs in the boot and want to light them up with some LED's and/or neons. Currently I've just got a small neon (cold cathode, dont know, same diff really) in there that came with it but hooked it up to the sub out port on the amp so it "dances" with the subs. Can I do the same for LED's or will it fry them?
The amp is only a small 250w 2 channel. The light only sorta comes in at volume 20/50 and I usually run it at about 35/50. This seems to be going ok for the moment and hasn't blown.
I want to make the whole boot light up with the subs so can I just fit more cold cathodes or led's to the sub out or would I be better off buying a sound sensor kit and use that method instead?
Cheers in advance

No probs turning LEDs on and off quickly.
If your existing sound sensor module outputs 12v you can just run them off that with appropriate current limiting resistors.
If your sound sensor module is integrated with the cathode inverter then you won't be able to use it, as the output for cathodes is a very high voltage.
TMM, By the sounds of it there is no Sensor.
Duck, You need a sensor if you want the lights to dance. If you start hooking up more lights and stuff to the amp you will draw to much current and fry the amp.

ahh ok. I'll just leave the single 15cm one that came with it in there for the moment and see what I can find when I go to Honk Kong later on this year. Should be heaps of stuff like that over there for next to nothing.

here's what i got hooked up in my car, i did it as an lol project, but people seemed to like it so i left it(tho i don't use it anymore really)
its 12V so no problems wiring it up, plus its adjustable

you can just hook them up behind the Sensor
