Any particular reason why you want this specific model H/U? You could probably get a better one for roughly $150.

Thanks Philthy, Fred got nothin listed for sale, and Acarmody, minister has no intention of letting me sleep till I slay this dragon, might have to get her one from Evilbay usa, they seem to be the only ones with one but come without a face plate and for that they want your kidney as payment. i'll just keep plodding along, might find one yet.

Damn mate you have this bad. I saw the Ebay USA sales of this H/U and how they sell the faceplate seperately. End result is your gonna spend upwards of $300 after postage for this H/U from America, that is second-hand and old.
What about if you buy a $150 H/U, buy her some jewellry and take her out for dinner? Would that work, cause it will probably still be cheaper.

Ok let me get this straight, i give her head (unit), buy her rings for her n**ples and get her some H/Jacks, sounds good will do that tomorow and if she doesn't hear music then a 16oz ballpien hammer should do the trick LOL.
Seriously though I think your right, the cost from the U.S is outrageous, it really is time to upgrade but she really hates H/U's that have the big turning knobs on them she prefers pushbutton type (always has)and they are becoming scarce in the mid to high-end units.

Thats friggin hilarious. Good one.
Tell her she doesn't have to use the big wheel on the H/U thats what the damn remote is for. Besides you have your eyes off the road for less time with the wheel controls.
Or you could spend some extra money and get one of those CAT units, a bit expesive but then you can use the factory steering wheel BUTTONS. One member on these forums that I know of is making one of these units now and they will be even cheaper.

yeh cat 10 unit will allow for steering wheel controls
retail on them is like $297
but go into jb hifi and tell them u can get it for 200 and they will do it at that for u
Thanks guys, I live in Mildura, no JB HI-FI here, we got Autobarn, Repco and Tonkins hi-fi otherwise known as, "if it ain't on the shelf then we no got it, Sorry thankyou come again", useless as tits on a canary up here (sorry Paul (Autobarn) your the exception to that), I can barely get decent Clarion gear or I have to buy Fusion or Alpine and ALPINE SUCKS WORSE THAN SOUND4, oops my bad, stop shouting now, god I miss the city and its choices .
What is a cat 10 unit ????? he asks humbly

A CAT unit is a device that you connect to the wiring in the steering wheel that then turns it into a infrared signal that mimics the H/Us remote control. You place the infared transmitter up near your roof light and point at the H/U.
If you need to buy a H/U, RYDA.com.au - Great Prices on Car Audio, Mobile Phones, Digital Cameras and GPS Navigation have some decent prices and deliver Australia wide.

Thanks Arcamody, got that site, they are good with prices, 1 more question for you, what wires in the steering wheel ????, if you mean the factory steering wheel remote I don't have one but i'm looking on Evilbay for one or maybe I need a whole new wheel with one already attached off a calais or stato.

I thought all VTs had factory radio buttons??? Mode, Up, Down, Mute, Volume up, and Volume down, doesn't your car have these?

not on the steering wheel, got those on the actual H/U though
I hear voices in my head and they don't like you
Huh strange I guess I was wrong. Maybe only the luxury models had them.
I don't know if you can just add a luxury model wheel or even a VX wheel which would probably be a straight fit. Your car may not have the clock spring behind the wheel or the necessary wiring behind the dash. Maybe someone else on the forums will know that. Maybe even ask a Holden dealership.
