VZ Head unit change

Hey guys
im busy changing my stock head unit for a double din alpine dvd player
removed the head unit and cage
not too sure where to go from here
i will do all the wires but if theres anything i need to know or do please let me know

You'll need some sort of an aftermarket wiring harness to plug into the vz harness. As you can probably see the vz one is very short and hard to work with. Cutting into it would be a very messy exercise also.

When installing my h/u I actually ripped off the socket piece on a broken vz unit i had lying around and soldered to that. Also you'll need to modify the aerial connector as its not a standard one. Once again I soldered to the socket i ripped off an old vz unit.

Also, a CAT10 or something similar is required if you want to retain use of the steering wheel controls.

Run the RCAs down the passenger side as there is a decent gap behind the head unit on that side to run them through.

i didnt know that the wires are so short
what i did was i cut the wires near the loom (im gonna keep it for one day maybe i sell the car) and just wired them like that
i gotta get a euro plug adaptor for the airial tomorrow from work (JB) and a cat10
i can get used to it without having a cat10 but im always pushing the buttons and nothing works
