Fusion Technologies
Basically most head units above the entry level mark, just like the cheaper one's, will all pretty much do the same job, regardless of their make.It comes down to what suits your needs. Here your looking at a 4 channel pre-out, and a dedicated sub-out, which is fine for most people. Also it has a 7 band equaliser. Would i buy it? No, mainly because it dosen't play CD's, and i actually have dock my IPOD inside of the head unit itself, and if wanting to change to a different gen IPOD, i'd have to purchase the extra sleeve for it....... But theirs a hot chick on the advert for it!!!!!
cheers for your help mate+
what head unit do you run?
hey if you have look at post ur sound system post on the last page there is a pic of my head unit its fusion if you want fusion and its a cd player it cranks but i dont know if you would find it anywhere i got mine from repco
its basically that one but a cd player
nice set up vl walky
how much was it all up?
800 except for the boss audio amp, so its was 800 for head unit, 6*9's, 6 1/2's, and 12" sub with the built in amp. i have the boss audio amp hooked up to 6*9's and 6 1/2's coz its 4 channel. its loud as, i had it up last night tunning it coz i just hooked the fronts to the amp, and the misses could here it inside lol
These units come with a whole box full of adaptors for just about every model Ipod ever made so you probably won't need to buy anything extra and I guess if your an Ipod freak you won't care too much about carrying CD's with you anyway. The IP-500s I've installed have all worked fine.

I run a DEH 3000IB from Pioneer. It's wouldn't be available anymore i'd imagine. But it's a direct IPOD unit, it has a cord which runs from the back of the head unit, to where ever you want (mine runs up into the glove box) Just plug your IPOD in, and it allows you to control it directly via the head unit, whilst also charging it. It also has an auxillary input, which will allow any other portable music source to be connected.
Like Mike S was saying, if your an IPOD "freak" not having the ability to play cd's, won't really worry you all that much. I still burn and make cd's all the time though, as i find the music quality, is better playing from a cd. (something to do with the IPOD being compressed file? I'm not sure)
ok thanks boys for the comments and the advice
going to get quotes tomoz i want to spend a max of 1500
so that includes the headunit max of 300 on that
slimline sub
amp for 2 splits and 1 sub
250 max on splits and the rest to got on the amp and sub
so what places should i go to?
Are you going to do the wiring yourself or......? You also forgot to add in a wiring kit to your shopping list. Also I'd be spending a little more on the splits, this is where all the real work is done, you will soon find out that all bass makes for crap music.
I'd go something like this:
Soundstream PCX4.360 Picasso - 4 Ch Amplifier: Ryda Car Audio - Soundstream PCX4.360 Picasso - Amplifier($275.00) $275
Boston SX60 6" Component Speakers: Ryda Car Audio - Boston SX60 5" Component Speakers($316.85) $316.85
Soundstream PW-12S.SVC Picasso - 12" Subwoofer: Ryda Car Audio - Soundstream PW-12S.SVC - 12" Subwoofer($156.25) $156.25
H/U: Up to you, they all pretty much have the same stuff.
Sub Enclosure: Can you make one yourself? Properly done a homemade enclosure will be better than most pre-fab boxes.
Wiring kit: 4 gauge is about $100 for kit.
Total $850 + $300ish for H/U (though a $200 will sound just as good). Plenty of room for improvement with remaining cash.

if your interested in iPod only decks...check out the Clarion FZ409A I've been considering one for my car but will probably wait until higher end version is released which 4Volt preouts and also built in BTHF.
I don't use an iPod I use an USB stick and thats it. I don't have need for music outside of my car so I didn't see the point in having an ipod doing nothing in the glovebox when a 40 dollar usb stick did everything I need.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
cheers for the help guys
