Hey everyone,
today we fitted a single din fold out dvd player (jensen) into my mates vs commodore
and we cant fit it back into the slot becuase of all the extra RCA outs (For gps, reversing sensor etc) and if you 'jam' it back in it wont work for obvious reasons. What have other people done in this situation?
Thanks.
if there is enough length, u can fold them to the left of the cavidy n pull them down a smige but u will need to remove the centre surround cover to adjust the wires. a bit fiddly but it worked fine on mine. prick of a spot back there!
can you arrange them so they sit on top of the headunit at all?
we can with i think four sets yeah, but still the remaining make it a bit difficult haha
I had a similar problem running my RCA's in my VP, just wasn't enough room. Not sure what your leads look like, but on the plugs, some are just (hope this makes sense lol!) straight and long, and other's are short and blunt, and have the wire coming off the side of the plug, rather than running straight into it. I went and bought a set of the short blunt RCA leads, and they gave me (just) enough room to fit my H/U back in. I still had to gently cram it in there while pulling the tension on the leads so they didn't bunch up.
Ah, here's a picture of what i was trying to explain..
ah yeah i get you mate, i'll see if that might work. thanks for the help
Dont the Jensens use RCA cables coming out of the rear as opposed to RCA sockets like most other units? Theyre like a small length of cable with RCA sockets attached i believe.
I found it easier with the commodores to pull the extra wiring out the side of the steel supports on the passenger side (where the original stereo loom comes from) as im sliding the head-unit back into place.
150db in a commodore =
thanks for all the help guys. tomorrow i'll see my mate at school n get him to pull it out so we can try and put it in properly.
Yes, holdenboy they do have the cables coming out thats right, we tried a few different ways but we didnt try putting them through the sides of the steel supports, which i think may work.
Thanks again.
