SUB & AMP suggestions around $600 - $800

hey im going out tomorrow to buy a sub and amp...

basically just seeing if anyone knows some good stuff going for good prices on the market at the moment, im in SA, but a general guideline of good products would be of great help..

just looking for a 12in, as i listen to a variety of music, not worried about space etc...

going to spend around $600 - $800 on sub in box + amp..

Some autobarns are doing the clarion pxw1251 with a mono block Clarion APX1301. Sub will handle about 500wrms and the amp is good for about 400wrms @ 2ohms. You cac pick the amp up for about $240 on their fathers day sale at the moment and the sub retails for around about 360 but you can get it for between 250-300. Add in a box and some power cable. Maybe some fitting if you want them to do it. Around it will be a pretty awesome package for around about 600-700.

Yes I work for Autobarn but you won't be shopping at my store so it's not like I'm pushing a product I just know that it'll be a great package. You could get a slightly larger amp but the price will sky rocket because it may not be on sale. But it will be flexible to add a second sub if you so desired. If you get the bigger amp then ask for the PXW1252 this is a dual voice coil sub with 2ohm coils....if you get the first amp then you want the 1251...this is 4ohm coils....or is the other way around? lol. I don' t remember.

Also in regards to power cable either amp you get, try and get 4ga power cable. This way with whichever amp you choose you will have plenty of capacity in the cable to handle a 4 channel amplifier if you decided to add one at a later date.

For a sub id recomment the Digital Designs 512a for $280ish (available for order from autobarn).
Rated at 300W RMS but are more then happy to take 500RMS + no sweat.

Then you want something that can put out 400-500w RMS at 4ohm.

Kenwood KAC-9104D 500 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (900 watts x 1 at 2 ohms)
$370ish

You could also save a bit of money and go a 300-400RMS amp, but the DD sucks up juice like a crackwhore.
