This is what I was quoted for upgrading the audio in a VE International sedan.
The head unit has a six stack CD player and of course the volume controls and other stuff on the steering wheel, including phone thingo, so I want to keep the original head unit.
So this is what was discussed - upgrade all speakers, a couple of amps; and throw a couple of subs into the rear parcel shelf
Black Air 6 120W RMS 6.5" Speakers
Slick A1 Vibe 4x75W RMS Amp
PP-AM200010 Fusion 2000Watt Monoblock Amp
2 Space 8 8" 300W RMS Subwoofers
Line to RCA Converter
Distribution block
RCA Cable
Vibe 4GA Cable kits
Installation
Total $3433.00
Any comments would be appreciated....
Thats a lot of money for a not very powerful system. Also I haven't heard of most of those brands, so I can't really comment on them. For that sort of money I'd want nothing but the best. Frankly I think you could do better for that price. Who gave you that price.
EDIT: Ah found the manufactorer at least http://www.vibecaraudio.com/index-oz.php

Hmm, i dunno....
Overall it sound s a little overpriced, Vibe is a good brand but theres definately better out there for that kind of money.....its also interesting that they went with a Fusion monoblock.

He said this is to go in a VE Sedan, so he should have plenty of room to play with.
Hmm I also wonder why they go for a $3433 system and recommend a fusion amp. For that amount of money you have nearly all the good brands to choose from, eg, Rainbow, Focal, Alpine X, etc for speakers yet they recommend a British brand.

Don't we all. My work seems to have this idea that us grunts just need a 10 minute nap and we are good for another day.

I've been using these guys for about 15 years now and they are just moving into Vibe gear. I had an audition and they have tonza grunt.
As there is a bloody great gas tank in the boot that's why they went for the pair of 8" sub woofers in the rear parcel shelf.
Still, it's a lot of money but I intend to keep the car a few years so I may as well get what should be a great sounding system.
Well mate if your happy with the products then thats all that matters. Are those 8" subs free-air subs or what? If not then they won't go to well without a proper enclosure.
