Hey guys, one of my mates is also putting subs into his ride, vr sedan, he is unsure in wich way to face them, is it true if you face them into the fold down seat it wont be near as loud as if they where facing the rear of the boot, if facing rear would you have to port into the cabin?
Don't bolt them in, and move them around every week or few days until he finds his favourite position.
Generally the done thing is to have them on the diff hump facing the back of the car, but I found I prefer mine sitting opposite the spare wheel firing across the boot.
And no, you don't have to port into the cabin at all

The best configuration for sedans is to face the subs to the rear, the idea is the subs "load" off the tailgate and boosts the output.
Generally its best to keep the port on the same side as the subwoofers, so the port should be firing rearwards, if its not possible then firing out of the drivers side of the box (into the quarter panel).
Ideally, you want the box to be right up the rear of the boot (near the tailights), around 5-10cm from them. Although this generally only gives 0.5-1db of gain over mounting them closer to the rear seats, hardly noticeable to the ear.
